Cook
Hello from Cook Class! We love being active learners and taking part in all the fun things our curriculum has to offer. Our topic in the autumn term is 'People Who Help US' where we have been learning about different jobs and people that inspire us. In Spring we will be learning about the 'Transport' and ways we move around. In summer our topic will be 'Explorers' and we will be learning about the world around us and hopefully going on some adventures! We also get to go to Forest School and swimming on a weekly basis which is great fun. We love to be creative and imaginative and take pride in everything we do.

We are Polo Class and we enjoy exploring and playing, especially outdoors! We take our learning very seriously through theoretical tasks but also, by playing with peers. We like taking our learning outside and we enjoy activities such as Swimming, Horse Riding, and Forest School. Our Autumn topic is “Dinosaurs”. We will go green by learning about “Recycling and the Rainforest” in the Spring term. And finally, in the Summer term, we will learn about “Under the Sea and Oceans”. We always make sure we have fun with our learning whilst building good friendships!

We will then move onto visiting places of worship and after that we will look at the lives of The Victorians. In class we will be reading The Snowman, focusing on our reading and comprehension skills in our English lessons. In addition to this, we will be striving to achieve our individual assessment targets in both academic and personal areas of our development, supporting each other by celebrating one another's accomplishments along the way. We look forward to a year of learning, adventure and discovery!
Hadfield
Hello and welcome to Hadfield! We have 13 members, half the class remained in Hadfield from last year and the rest from either Armstrong or Ride. Whether it is a game of rounders, a self portrait or weeding this group has a brilliant 'can do' attitude to school life.
Our timetable consists of PE, Horticulture, Art, Maths, English, Science, PSHE and Topic. This year we have Mr Davis, Mrs Griffiths, Miss Townsend and Mrs Johnson to support us with our learning, we are always happy for visitors to come into our class and see some of the fantastic learning opportunities we have.
Peake
We are Peake class and we are looking forward to an exciting year together of learning and growing with both our personal and academic goals.
Our class is named after the British Astronaut Tim Peake and we live by one of his famous quotes; "Don't let anybody tell you you can't do anything".
We are a very happy class who are a mixture of year 8 and year 9 pupils. We have Mrs Stack, Mrs Magney, Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Saitch to help us with our learning.
We have a varied curriculum which allows us all to explore our strengths and we enjoy a mixture of classroom based and practical 'hands on' learning in subjects such as horticulture, Food Technology and Design Technology.
Reading is very important in our class and we believe that it can be very powerful in transporting us and firing up our imaginations as well as giving us ideas for our own writing and improving our spelling and vocabulary.
We also value maths highly and strive to make connections with making maths 'real', placing a large focus on money, telling the time and improving our mental maths.
Lastly we have two very responsible pupils who are our school councillors, their names are DJ and Heidi and they make sure that our class have a voice within the wider school and help to make decisions on how things are done.
Thank you for reading about our wonderful class.

We are looking forward to working hard in our lessons and getting ourselves out in the community.
Having fun whilst learning is the most important thing for our class!
Shackleton
Shackleton is a KS4 class made up of year 10 and year 11 students. In Shackleton we encourage students to support each other both academically and emotionally through the many changes that they will experience this year.
Students in our class are preparing to move into the next exciting stage of their development. In order to prepare them for the challenges ahead students have an extended Life skills programme which looks at the ‘Steps to Adulthood’ along with ‘PSHE’ and ‘Independent Living’ skills. Students are encouraged to take part in our prefect programme which gives them the opportunity to develop their ‘working in the community’ skills.
During these lessons students are given opportunities to practise skills such as handling money, reading bus time tables, communicating with the general public, reading menus and improving their social skills. We use every opportunity to support pupils towards independence and to gaining a better understanding of the world around them. This is all achieved with adult support.
As part of their academic programme students are preparing for Functional skills exams in a variety of subjects. The year 11 students act as ambassadors for the year 10, with our class motto: We are a family and families look after each other!
Fiennes
In Fiennes Class this year we are a mixture of Year 10 and Year 11 students. Even though our class is made up of 2 year groups we work really well together.
The Year 11 learners in our class guide and support our Year 10’s in their transition from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. We work towards becoming mature young adults in Key Stage 4 and start thinking about how we can become more independent in all aspects of our lives.
We study a variety of subjects- English, Maths, Science, ICT, Horticulture, Performing Arts, PE, Art, Technology, RSHE and Life Skills. We work towards EdExcel Functional Skills qualifications and AQA Unit Award Certificates.
We enjoy going out and about in the community and this helps our independence as we learn how to communicate with shopkeepers and members of the public. We also learn how to use money independently.
In Key Stage 4, we have the opportunity to give something back to the school, by applying to become a Prefect. Prefects have a variety of roles in helping learners and staff. We have to complete a written application and also have an interview with the Head of Key Stage 4.
We enjoy being treated in a more grown up manner in Key Stage 4, and we learn how to deal with our emotions in a more logical and levelled way.
We have lots of fun and laughs in Fiennes class….. And the odd sweet treat too!!
Our class motto is Be Kind.
