In January 2016, Laura Bingham began an attempt to cycle across South America.

 

With only the equipment she could fit on her bike, she cycled 7,000 km from the Pacific coast of Ecuador through Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina until reaching the Atlantic Ocean at Buenos Aires. 

 

She got a glimpse of life without financial security and learned that strangers aren’t always kind and welcoming. 

 

During her journey, Laura was raising money and awareness for Operation South America, a charity that looks after homeless or abused young women in Paraguay.
