KS 1 & 2 pupils explore and learn 'how to learn' by overcoming barriers that have developed during previous learning experiences that have not been able to fully meet their needs. The focus is on exploring self esteem, confidence, social skills and communication. The intent is for pupils to feel comfortable and confident in themselves and their learning environment so that they can make progress academically and holistically.

Polo
Hello, We are Polo class. It is important to us that we are good friends and have lots of fun together, whilst learning and making progress. We are positive and focus on the 'power of yet'. We enjoy going to Forest School and Swimming sessions and are passionate about reading and sharing stories. 'Oh The Places We Shall Go’ is our first topic this academic year. We will look at different places, not only important to us, but around the world. We will also get out and about so that we can explore our local community too! In Spring, we shall be exploring 'Space', although we do not have a rocket yet! In the summer term our topic will be 'Everyday Heroes'.
Drake
Welcome to Drake class. We enjoy being creative and having lots of fun. In the Summer term we are exploring Ancient Egypt. As part of this topic, we will be finding where Egypt is in the world compared to the UK, how the Ancient Egyptians communicated, mummification and lots of other fun activities. In the Spring term, we will be finding out about different countries around the world looking at their climate, food, clothes and languages spoken. During the Summer term, our topic will be Extreme Earth and we will be creating volcanoes, looking at tornadoes, tsunamis, hurricanes and Earthquakes. We are looking forward to working together, having fun with our learning and playing with our friends.
